Hi, I’m Maya and mémoire eidétique (photographic memory) is my blog.
I’m a twenty-something sometimes-photographer. I enjoy: taking and making photographs, detective mysteries, knitting, anatomical illustrations, jellyfish, punk rock, traveling, Argentine tango, making and eating desserts, people watching in museums, and playing ukulele. Currently, I’m a graduate student in social work at Washington University in St. Louis, where I spend a lot of time thinking about logistic regression and social justice.
All photographs, unless otherwise noted, are by Maya Matheis and are the sole property of the artist. Please don’t use them or redistribute them without asking first. Thanks for honoring this!
The featured quotation, “If you remember me, then I don’t care if everyone else forgets,” is from Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore.
